An Immersive Cold War Thriller. Come and solve the mystery of the man who died in the archives at Kensington Central Library.

The old librarian, Gwendolyn Radcliffe, never forgot that fateful night in June 1962. Esteban Moreño’s lecture on Cuban music was poorly attended. His meagre audience was composed of herself, a young journalist, his model girlfriend, a Mathematics student and a drunken vagabond. However, the event made the news when the drunk was found dead beneath the Library less than an hour later. The police never identified him, but from then on Gwen often felt she could see the haunting shadow of a sleeping man, slumped among the shelves.

Now in 2018, Gwendolyn has discovered that an undercover agent named ‘Anillo Rojo’ disappeared in London that very same night. She has hired the master of the supernatural, Jack Daw, to investigate this mystery. He is looking for bright minded people to join him and unlock the dark past of the Library.

Jack Daw will put you into groups of five or six, one to focus on each suspect, so bring friends or make new ones on the night. The is free tea, coffee and lemonade in the interval.

Dead Quiet has been created with an exhilarating mix of historic facts and classic sixties spy stories.

All interactions are initiated by the audience and you will not be called on to do something you are uncomfortable with.

The show does involve a fair amount of walking around the space and travelling up and down stairs so please wear sensible shoes.

We have one wheelchair accessible route but due to the size of the lift this is limited to one per show.

If you have any questions please email before you book to ensure we can accommodate you.

Tickets are not available on the door.

Brilliant experience! Loved that this was in an unusual setting of the archives of the Library. Great acting and very slick running. Would highly recommend!

It was an interesting ad hard experience. It allowed us to interact with actors which was extremely fun and have an insight into their world. I feel however as some of the clues could only be noticed if you connected previous ones so I think making them interlink somehow better would be good. This was hands down one of the best things I've ever done. Such a cool venue, great actors and an ambitious concept. The whole thing was so much fun!! Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-09

This was a really fun way to spend Saturday afternoon! The actors were really convincing and the story intriguing - in the first part it was a bit like being inside a flashback and seeing someone’s memories coming to life - it was really nicely done, set in different rooms as we made our way down through the basement levels of the library. Small tweaks to the lighting give it great atmosphere and at one point I hid behind a bookcase to spy on the action! In the second part we could interact with these memories or ‘ghosts’ and it was fun being able to speak with the actors as though we were spies ourselves, and they were very good at staying in character. Our task was to solve the murder case - it was quite difficult and we didn’t manage but it was enjoyable nonetheless. If you are going alone you will be put in a group and will work together to solve the case or otherwise you can go as a group of 4 or 5 friends. I should also mention that the library is an absolutely gorgeous building in my opinion, and is itself a kind of glamorous actor in this production. I highly recommend it! Really immersive experience. Much more interesting than any Secret Cinema I've been to and you really have to think on your feet to get anywhere. Thoroughly recommended. Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-30

I had an amazing time with Dead Quiet at Kensington library. The mystery, the tense spy conflict, immersion into cold war reality and eerie spirit of library basement. The shabby victim performance was top notch! Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-30

I really enjoyed Dead Quiet, the setting in the library really helped to make the experience more intriguing. My only quibble (trying not to give too much away) would be that I'm not sure how you could work out how exactly what had happened as the ending kind of came out of the blue (not the first motive, but definitely the means and the second incident) but I would be interested in other similar events in the future. Some great performers. Really impressive accessibility (wheelchair and lift options). Probably an hour too long. Needs tightening up. (Although seen on the first performance). Great location with some fun concepts being explored. Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-09

My friend and I had a great time. It was opening night, so there were a few teething problems, but all in all a great experience. I look forward to attending more Immercity events in future. Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-09

Well cast and brilliant location. Really felt I was in cold war era of 1962. Lots of running around and going up and down stairs. Not for the faint t hearted. But there is a lift and a wheelchair user was fully accommodated which was impressive. Acting was totally believable. Loved interacting with them. Didn't guess it right so I suppose I'm not a natural sleuth! A great afternoon out. Visited Kensington Central Library on 2018-06-09
